With its original name VINICUNCA, but popularly known as RAINBOW MOUNTAIN, forming part of one of the most important mountains that surround the snow-capped AUSANGATE, with a height of 5200m.s.n.m. In the middle of this decade, its tourist mass began, attracted by the series of stripes of various colors, this due to its mineralogical composition present on the slopes and peaks. Nowadays, it is also considered as the hidden JEWEL of the Peruvian Andes. It invites us to enjoy the natural colors of its mountains, a contact with the local people, their customs, traditions and typical clothing of the area. Completing our adventure with an impressive view of the RED VALLEY.
Leaving the city of Cusco at 4:30 am we head south, arriving at the Cusipata district where we will have breakfast; after a delicious breakfast we will continue the trip for approximately 1 hour and a half until we reach the starting point of our hike and the end of the buses (4600 m.a.s.l.), We will start the hike uphill for approximately 2 hours during the way we will delight our view with impressive steep mountains, pampas covered with ichu or straw, typical vegetation of the Peruvian Puna; We will also be able to appreciate colorful bird fauna in their habitat. We will arrive at the top of the mountain and take the mountain to the left to see the magnificent MOUNTAIN OF COLORS from there the famous photographs will be taken, on the way back we will take the route to the RED VALLEY, after enjoying this beautiful landscape we will return to our place start or bus station to continue the return, making a stop at the same place for breakfast and there have the respective lunch. We will be in the city of Cusco between 5:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
